The Allahabad High Court has rejected Patanjali Ayurved's plea against a Rs 273.50-crore GST penalty. The court stated that tax authorities can impose penalties through civil proceedings. It clarified that criminal trials aren't necessary for GST penalties. The investigation revealed suspicious transactions involving firms with high Input Tax Credit.
